Page Translations

Since versions 13.6.0/12.12.0, you translate several pages asynchronously with the WorkflowManager of the AI Suite.

1. Where can I find the function?

Through the backend module:

  1. Open the backend module “AI Suite”
  2. Switch to the “WorkflowManager” area
  3. Select “Translate pages” to access the filter and selection view

Through the context menu:

  1. Select the desired page in the page tree and open the context menu with a right-click
  2. Select “AI Suite”
  3. Select “WorkflowManager for page translation”

2. Filter the page tree

  1. There you can filter your page tree by the desired pages by specifying the source page, the page type and the depth of the search
  2. In addition, you select the source and target language as well as the translation scope (“All (metadata, content)”, “Page metadata only”, “Content elements only” or “Page file references only”)
  3. After clicking “Show pages for translation”, you see the pages available based on the filter criteria

    At the top we choose the start page, the page type and the depth, below that the source and target language and the scope. We include the subpages and translate metadata and content from German into English.

3. Select desired pages and start WorkflowManager

  1. Select the pages you want to translate.
  2. The info button shows the exact page properties as well as the number of content and metadata fields.
  3. Click “Translate pages with AI” to start the process.
  4. Alternatively, you start the translation in the background with “Translate with AI and auto-fill in background”. You find the prerequisites under WorkflowManager.

  • We choose a model and all pages. The table shows for each page whether it is translated already and how many content elements and metadata fields it has. Then we start with “Translate pages with AI”.

4. Display and status of the respective translation processes

  1. The page translations are marked with the status “Pending” in the WorkflowManager
  2. The indicators in the page tree represent the status of the translations (gray: in progress, green: finished, red: error)
  3. In addition, you can refresh the tree view with the three dots in the page tree to retrieve the status again
  4. If a translation has failed, you can request it again in the Page module with “Retry translation task” or discard it with “Remove translation task”

  • The translation runs in the background. At first, the selected pages are listed in the WorkflowManager with the status “Pending”.

  • After “Reload”, the translations are done. Pages marked green in the page tree have a finished translation.

    5. Check and validate the result

    1. Check the status of the translated pages in the page tree
    2. If the status is green, the AI Suite creates the translations automatically as soon as you open the page again. You also receive a notification.
    3. If you do not see the translations directly, select “Language Comparison” in the top dropdown
    4. Then select “All Languages” in the dropdown below
    5. There you find the translation of the selected page in the target language

      When we open one of the pages, the AI Suite applies the translation. The language comparison shows the English version next to the original.
