Overview of settings in the backend module

Since versions 12.18.0 / 13.12.0, the central AI Suite settings can be maintained directly in the backend. Access is via the button “Global Settings” (gear icon) in the AI Suite backend module. This is the convenient alternative to the file-based configuration in the installation tool and writes to the same values. The button only appears if the permission “Enable Global Settings” (enable_global_settings) is set, see permission management.

Note on Sensitive Fields

API keys and the Basic Auth password are displayed masked. When saving, they are only overwritten if a new value is actually entered. An empty field leaves the saved value unchanged.

Managed Settings Areas

  • AI Suite API: License key (aiSuiteApiKey), server URL (aiSuiteServer)
  • Translation: Translate FlexForm fields, update DeepL glossaries, library for easy language, disable translation function
  • Metadata: Number of suggestions, automatic generation of title/alternative text, model, procedure (TaskEngine or save directly), own prompt for the automatic generation (metadataAutogeneratePrompt, since versions 14.4.0/13.16.0/12.22.0)
  • Media: Storage folder for generated media
  • HTTP Basic Auth: enable, user, password
  • Bring your own keys: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Translate, DeepL (incl. mode), Midjourney (Key + ID), AI Model Hub (Key, IONOS, also used for Flux)
  • GDPR: GDPR mode (see below)
  • Background Tasks: maxTasks (max. concurrently processed background tasks)

GDPR Mode

The option “Load only GDPR-compliant libraries” (forceGdpa, default: off) restricts the available AI models to those marked as GDPR-compliant on the AI Suite server. Enable the option if only data protection-compliant models are to be used.
