Keeping Track of AI Content

From versions 14.6.0/13.18.0/12.24.0 onwards, the AI Suite marks what an AI feature has written. In the page module and in the edit forms, you see at a glance which texts come from an AI. In the area “AI content” of the backend module, you find all of these records collected and can record that you have reviewed a text and take editorial responsibility for it.

1. Marking in the Page Module and in Forms

Content elements written by an AI feature carry a badge in the page module. There are three kinds:

  • AI-generated: The content was created by an AI feature, for example when generating content elements.
  • AI-assisted: You adopted an AI suggestion in the form, for example from the AI plugin in the RTE.
  • AI-translated: The content is an AI translation. This badge only appears if the installation discloses AI translations.

When you hover over the badge, you see the model, the time and the feature.

In the edit forms, every field the AI Suite can fill shows the notice “This text was written by an AI feature.”, provided the current text comes from the AI. This concerns the SEO fields and the abstract of a page, the title, alternative text and description of a file, the title and alternative text of a file reference, and the two AI fields of news records. The notice applies per field: if you rewrite a field, it disappears there, while the other fields remain marked.

2. Where do I find the overview?

Open the AI Suite backend module and select “AI content”, or click “Open” on the card “AI content” in the dashboard. If you see the notice “No access” instead, your backend group lacks the required permission. In that case, please contact your administration.

3. Structure of the Overview

The overview is divided into three tabs:

  • Pages: pages and their content elements.
  • Files & media: generated files and their metadata. For a file, it states which element it is used on.
  • Records: everything else, for example news.

Within a tab, the entries are grouped by where they belong, for example by page or folder. Each row shows the record with a link for editing, the kind of marking, the feature and when the text was written. If a human has changed the text since then, “edited since” is shown next to it.

With the filters, you narrow the list down by kind, feature and review status, and in the tab “Records” also by table. The filters are stored in the URL, so you can share a filtered list.

4. Mark as Reviewed

Select the entries you have reviewed, or use “Select all”, and click “Mark selection as reviewed”. This records that a human has reviewed these texts and takes editorial responsibility for them. This is the exception that Art. 50(4) of the EU AI Act provides for texts. It does not apply to images, audio and video.
